Typically, Professional positions require judgment in analyzing and evaluating problems as well as in decision-making involving discretionary choices between alternative courses of action.
What education and work experience do you need for P or D positions?
An advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) is our standard educational requirement for all Professional (P) and Director (D) level positions and we apply the following standard recruitment requirements for these positions:
Grade Work experience requirement
P1 minimum of 1 year
P2 minimum of 3 years
P3 minimum of 5 years
P4 minimum of 7 years
P5 minimum of 10 years
D1 minimum of 12 years
D2 minimum of 15 years

Directors represent the highest level in this category and on the career staffing structure. As a Director, you are also expected to provide leadership in formulating and implementing the substantive work programme of an office, determine priorities, and allocate resources for the completion of outputs and their timely delivery.
